Roger began his work in behavioral sciences at Montclair State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He began working as a teacher in an inner‐city preschool after completing his undergraduate studies and soon realized that many of the issues people grow up with start well before they’re born; their families often carry these issues for generations. Roger immediately began his graduate studies at Kean University where he obtained a Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences and Psychological Services. During his time at Kean, Roger conducted research that investigated whether or not there is any correlation between relationship conflict and being in an interfaith relationship. Continuing to see a need to address family issues, Roger continued his studies at Kean and recently finished their Marriage & Family Therapy program (diploma TBA January 2010).
Roger has spent the last 5 years working with families in the inner‐city and helping them address their relational issues. Roger spent more than 4 years working first as a case manager and then as a supervisor at a care management organization that obtained services for severely emotionally disturbed children. During that time Roger also worked as an in‐home therapist, providing individual and family counseling in NJ. Recently, Roger worked at a local non‐profit organization as a therapist where he worked with children, adults, individuals, couples, and families.
Roger remains a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and continues to provide education regarding relationship issues twice a week on his internet‐based video podcast, LuvBuzd. Roger provides simple‐to‐understand insights on matters of the heart and interacts with his community. Other interests include: hiphop (music and production), Christian apologetics, and paintball.
